Woman sent forward for trial accused of assault causing harm to two men in Tralee

A Polish woman has been sent forward for trial accused of assault causing harm to two men in Tralee two years ago.
45-year-old Iwona Sobczak Zahnoj of Zyrardow, Poland was before Tralee District Court, having been arrested in Dublin Airport on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.
Iwona Sobczak-Zahnoj is charged with assault causing harm to two men on September 23rd 2017 on Strand Street, Tralee, contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
She was arrested on Monday night (October 14th) in Dublin Airport on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.
The book of evidence in her case was served at Tralee District Court yesterday, and Judge David Waters sent Ms Zahnoj forward for trial to the next sitting of Tralee Circuit Court.
Her solicitor Pat Enright sought bail; there was no objection from the State, and the judge consented.
