West Limerick couple thank Kerry people for generosity in house adaptation appeal

A west Limerick couple has thanked the people of Kerry for their generosity in helping to adapt their home for their son.

Shane Enright, who lives in Athea, has a variety of complex medical issues and could only get around his house on his knees as it is not wheelchair friendly.

Limerick City and County Council approved an adaptation grant of €30,000 for the bungalow but there was still a shortfall.

Shane’s father Richard says people are running fundraising campaigns online and locally.

He says handwritten letters have come from people in Kerry wishing the family well and following an appeal on Talkabout two Kerry companies offered to do roofing and block laying:
