West Limerick agri-tech firm launching $3 million pilot project in Maryland

West Limerick agri-tech company BHSL is today launching a $3 million pilot project with the State of Maryland, which is seeing the company enter the US market.

BHSL, which is based in Kantoher, has a unique, patent-protected system to convert poultry manure into a fuel for energy generation on-farm.

The Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan will this evening officially launch the pilot project that demonstrates the role this technology can play in addressing the environmental challenges the States faces from its large poultry industry.

The event takes place at poultry farmer Bob Murphy’s 112 acre farm in Rhodesdale, Maryland, where a BHSL unit was installed last October.
