West Kerry musician erects over 200 crosses in field in planning permission protest

A West Kerry musician has erected over 200 crosses in his field as part of a protest over planning permission.

Breanndán Begley built a wooden cabin on an arctic truck trailer because he was not given planning to build a house.

He says he has been threatened with an enforcement order to remove the structure, or he faces two years in jail, or a fine of over 12.6 million euro.

He says the 235 wooden crosses represent the number of people who used to live in the area:
