Walsh Resigns As High Performance Head Coach Of IABA

Billy Walsh has announced his resignation as the High Performance Head Coach of the Irish Amatuer Boxing Association. Walsh says he was hopeful in recent weeks that a final proposal arising out of an approach in late September by the IABA would lead to a successful conclusion but unfortunately it didn’t. The Wexford man has confirmed a new role with USA boxing. In some good news Zaur Antia will continue with the Irish team. Former Irish Olympians such as Bernard Dunne, John Joe Nevin and Darren O’Neill have all expressed their disappointment at the decision on social media.
