Visitor restrictions at Kerry General because of vomiting bug and flu outbreak

Kerry General Hospital, Tralee Strict visitor restrictions remain in place at Kerry General Hospital due to a number of patients with suspected Norovirus – commonly known as the vomiting bug and influenza type illness. This is in the interest of patient care and in order to curb the spread of the vomiting bug and viruses within the Hospital. In a statement the Health Service Executive asks that because of an outbreak of the vomiting bug and influenza. Visitors are asked to strictly adhere to the visiting times which are 2.00pm – 4.00pm & 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Two named visitors only are allowed per patient per day with strictly no children allowed to visit. Security staff at the hospital are ensuring these restrictions are adhered to. Only those identified by Ward Managers, as named by the patient will be allowed to visit. Visitors are also advised that they must use the Alcohol hand gels supplied as they enter and leave the hospital.
