Visit of Duke of Kent highlights importance of RNLI to Fenit

The visit of the Duke of Kent to Fenit was an opportunity to highlight the importance of the RNLI to the village.

The 81-year-old Royal, a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth, paid a visit to the county yesterday in his capacity as President of the RNLI.

He visited Fenit to recognise the efforts of the local lifeboat service, and to see the latest rescue boat they have in operation.

Operations manager of Fenit RNLI, Gerard O’Donnell says the voluntary service is vital to the community.
