A candlelit vigil is to be held in Tralee tonight, to mark World Suicide Day.
It’s estimated that a million people worldwide each year take their own lives, while in Ireland the figure is at 900 per year.
This is the sixth year that the vigil has been held in Pearce Park in Tralee town centre, and the numbers attending grows each year.
The event begins at 8.30pm with a minute’s silence to remember all those who lost their lives through suicide.
