Valentia Coastguard assists with transfer of ill child

Valentia Coastguard Radio Station was involved in the emergency transfer of a child from Cape Clear Island in Cork this morning. RNLI Lifeboats The alert was raised at 9.20 when Valentia received an emergency call to say the child was unresponsive and in need of medical attention. Baltimore Lifeboat was tasked to transfer him from the Island to the mainland from where he was then taken to hospital by ambulance at 10.30. He is understood to be recovering in hospital.
