Up to 20 people involved in pub row in Listowel

Gardai say more charges may be brought against the crowd of people that were involved in a row in a pub on William Street in Listowel last night. Up to twenty people were involved in the fight which according to Garda sources centres on an ongoing internal Traveller family feud. The fight broke out in the pub but later spilled out onto the site of the former mart.Gardai from Tralee and Listowel, including the Paddy wagon arrived on the scene in a bid to bring the situation under control. Bottles were thrown and glasses broken in the fight which it`s understood is part of an internal Traveller family feud. According to Garda sources underlying family tensions over the last number of months led to last night`s row.Three men aged in their 20’s and 30’s will be charged at Listowel District Court on September 8th. Its understood damage to the pub was minimal. Meanwhile Gardai are continuing to appeal for witnesses to an incident which left two men with head injuries after being attacked near a car park on Main Street in Ballybunion in the early hours of Sunday morning. Both men were treated at Kerry General. Gardai in Ballybunion say they believe the attackers fled the scene in a while hino van.
