A murder in mid-Kerry, which has gone unsolved for five years, will be the subject of a renewed appeal on television this evening.
58-year-old James Cahillane was found dead at his home in Ardraw Beaufort on April 19th 2012.
After returning from a night out he was violently assaulted by an attacker, who then set fire to the house in a bid to conceal the crime.
Gardai believe the attacker was more than likely known to Mr Cahillane and a hammer head found at the scene could have been the murder weapon.
The murder will feature on RTE’s Crimecall this evening.
