UEFA President Claims He’s Being Dragged Through Mud Due To Association With FIFA

UEFA president Michel Platini claims he’s being “dragged through the mud” by being associated with the FIFA corruption scandal. He’s serving a 90-day suspension, as is Sepp Blatter, over an alleged “disloyal” payment made by the head of world football’s governing body to the former France captain. Platini, who intends to run in February’s FIFA presidential election, told newspaper Le Monde he believes he’s the only man capable of turning the organisation around. Leeds have confirmed that head coach Uwe Rosler has been sacked – after just 12 games in charge. He leaves with the club 18th in the Championship following Saturday’s defeat to leaders Brighton. Chairman Massimo Cellino is looking for a sixth boss in roughly 18 months. That could well be former Rotherham manager Steve Evans – who’s understood to have taken training this morning.
