Kerry Mountain Rescue Team was called out last night at half 10, to locate two male walkers who were lost on the MacGillycuddy Reeks. The walkers had climbed Carrauntoohil and lost their way in cloud on the descent from the mountain. They called for assistance after darkness fell. Kerry Mountain Rescue Team was able to establish the location of the walkers using a grid reference that was provided from a smart phone used by the walkers. Members of the rescue team located the walkers in the Derrynafeana area of Glencar at around midnight. Neither of the men was injured and they were guided from the mountain to safety.
