Two Romanian women admit involvement in Tralee brothel

Two Romanian women have admitted being involved in the running of a brothel in Tralee.

38-year-old Florina Avram of 24A Fountain Court, Tralee was before Tralee District Court charged with allowing her home to be used as a brothel; she’s been ordered to leave the country.

33-year-old Mihaiela Gogulenco is charged with using the same address for prostitution; she’s been convicted and fined.

Florina Avram, a 38-year-old Romanian national, pleaded guilty at Tralee District Court to being the tenant of 24A Fountain Court, Tralee, and allowing it to be used for prostitution on the 5th of June.

Gardaí found four Romanian women in the house on that date.

The court was told Ms Avram didn’t benefit financially or materially from the brothel.

Judge James O’Connor convicted and sentenced her to four months in prison, suspended on condition she returns to her home country of Romania within 14 days, and doesn’t come back to Ireland for five years.

Mihaiela Gogulenco, a 33-year-old Romanian national, was convicted and fined €275 for using the same address for prostitution.
