Two more angling representatives on the South West Regional Fisheries Bord have walked out over the ongoing row on monofilament nets. This follows the resignations of four members last month. The anglers are worried the introduction of the nets will decimate salmon stocks. The two members walked out of the meeting in protest at the Chairman, Ellen Godfrey`s use of her casting vote last month to pass the monofilament proposal. She claims she used her casting vote to block an amendment to shelve the nets proposal. Ellen Godfrey`s assertion is she used the casting vote to allow discussion take place. Anglers Jerry Keating and Conor O Mahoney walked out of this months meeting in protest.
Suzanne Connolly, CEO of Barnardos, joins Jerry to discuss the troubling findings of a report into Túsla and children at risk released this week.
