Trio Progress In County Senior Football Championship

Mid Kerry, South Kerry & Legion have all registered victories in the Garvey’s Super Valu County Senior Football Championship.

Mid Kerry recorded a comfortable victory against a disappointing An Ghaeltacht by 2-14 to 0-10. They were helped largely by first half goals from Donnchadh Walsh and Ciaran Kennedy, which gave them a 6 point advantage at the short whistle. Colm Kelly reports

South Kerry defeated Kenmare Shamrocks 1-14 to 0-13. The victors overturned a 4 point half time deficit to win this one, a game which saw Bryan Sheehan put over 6 frees and Sean O’Shea go 1 better.

Legion overcame Rathmore 2-14 to 2-12, having led 1-8 to 0-8 at the break. A James O’Donoghue strike sealed the victory as Timmy Sheehan reports

St Brendan’s or West Kerry will tonight exit the Championship.

They meet in the Preliminary Round at 6:30, in Austin Stack Park.
