Transport minister will ‘do his very best’ to support Macroom and Adare bypasses

Road3Transport minister, Paschal Donohoe says that he will ‘do his very best’ to support the development of two major roads projects affecting Kerry. Minister Donohoe says that he is committed to achieving progress on the bypasses of Adare and Macroom which lie on two of the main national primary routes into the county. Last October, An Bord Pleanala refused the latest plan by Limerick County Council to bypass Adare as it would have constituted “isolated infrastructure.” The project has now reverted to route selection. The proposed bypass of Macroom on the N22 remains well down the NRA list of priorities. Minister Donohoe said that he realises the impact both projects would have in Kerry:
