Minister Shane Ross will meet vintners in Listowel tomorrow.
The meeting which is organised by Deputy Michael Healy Rae will discuss proposed laws, which will see an automatic disqualification for drink driving.
The Transport Minister wants drivers caught with between 50 to 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood for the first time put off the road.
Minister Ross has criticised TDs succumbing to pressure to oppose his planned reversal of what he says is a loophole allowing first-time drink-driving offenders to escape disqualification.
The Vintners’ Federation of Ireland, has written to TDs and Senators urging them to oppose the measure.
Fine Gael deputy Brendan Griffin is against the Minister’s plan.
