Transformers star to attend opening night of Dingle Film Festival this evening

Transformers star Jack Reynor will be in West Kerry this evening for the opening night of the Dingle International Film Festival.

The Wicklow actor will attend a screening of his new film in Dingle’s Phoenix Cinema.

The film festival gets underway this afternoon and will run until Sunday 26th.

Jack Raynor’s breakthrough role was in ‘Room’ director Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’ portraying the fall of a school rugby star following an assault.

He also starred in Kerry director Gerald Barrett’s ‘Glassland‘.

Starring Hollywood roles followed including ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ alongside Mark Wahlberg.

CEO of the film festival Maurice Galway says it’s very exciting to welcome Jack Reynor and director Ben Wheatley to Dingle for the screening of ‘FREE FIRE’.


A number of local female directors will also give the Dingle International Film Festival a local flavour this year:


The Dingle Film Festival opens this afternoon with short film screening at St James’ Church at 2pm.
