Tralee’s Borg Warner set to create new jobs

Tralee company Borg Warner is set to create new jobs and announce a multi-million-euro investment.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor will visit the factory at Monavalley Business Park on the 28th of April to officially launch a new production line and give details on the number of new positions.

IDA Chief Executive and Abbeydorney native, Martin Shanahan and Ireland South MEP, Sean Kelly will also attend the event.

Borg Warner, which makes electronic car parts, says the investment will pave the way for a cleaner, more energy-efficient world.

Some 45 jobs were lost in 2009 at the company, then known as Beru, when it closed a production line.
