Tralee Town Council receive numerous calls on litter hotline

There has been up to 90 calls to Tralee Town Councils litter hotline since it began back in April. Litter warden Brendan Murphy says the public are beginning to gain more pride in keeping their town clean. Almost 1,000 euro a day is spent by Tralee Town Council on street cleaning. However Brendan Murphy says there is a growing problem in the square at lunchtime. Speaking on this mornings Kerry Today he said they aim to combat this problem by starting a litter awareness programme in schools.
