IT Tralee Students’ Union President says education on consent needed at second level

More education is needed around the area of consent according to the President of the Students’ Union at the Institute of Technology Tralee.

It follows alarming statistics on alleged rapes and sexual assault on college students in Cork and Galway.

Jessica Murphy says she is not surprised by the figures and is glad that students are reporting complaints.

She believes that we are failing our young people due to a lack of education on relationships and sexuality at second level.
