Tralee start-up first to host Gigabit hub initiative

A Tralee start – up has become the first to host the Siro Vodafone Gigabit hub initiative in Ireland.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor attended the launch of the Gigabit Hub Initiative and the official launch of HQ Tralee.

She praised HQ Tralee along with Siro and Vodafone for bridging the digital divide in rural Ireland.

In 2014 ESB and Vodafone joined forces to create SIRO – a new national telecoms infrastructure.

Ken Tobin of HQ Tralee made a number of announcements including plans to double the work force in HQ to 100.

Work will also start on the second block of the business in two weeks.
