Tralee priest appointed Vicar General of Kerry Diocese

A Tralee priest has been appointed Vicar General of the Diocese of Kerry. Fr Seán Hanafin of St John’s Tralee replaces Fr. Dan O Riordan, of Castleisland Parish. cross The Vicar General assists the Bishop in the governance of the Diocese. It is a wide remit and there is usually just one appointed. At present in the diocese there are twelve Vicar Foranes, one appointed to each Pastoral area. Two Vocations Directors have also been appointed recently; Fr Michael Moynihan, Glengarriff and Fr Liam Comer, Dromtariffe.
