Tralee man charged with possession of over €80,000 worth of drugs due to reappear in court

A Tralee man charged with possession of over €80,000 worth of drugs is due to reappear in court.

41-year-old Clive Scannell of 55 Mitchels Square, Tralee is facing eight charges relating to the possession of cannabis and cannabis resin, and the sale and supply of cannabis and cannabis resin.

It’s being alleged that Clive Scannell was in possession of drugs worth over €80,000 at 55 and 57 Mitchels Square on the 17th September of this year.

At a previous sitting, the state objected to bail due to the seriousness of the alleged offences.

Solicitor Dave Ramsay, defending Mr Scannell, had previously told the court his client has no previous convictions, is not a flight risk, does not have a lavish lifestyle and is a family man.

Mr Scannell reappeared in Tralee District Court yesterday.

Judge David Waters remanded the accused in custody, to reappear again on November 6th, when it’s expected the book of evidence will be served.
