The IT Tralee ladies have been beaten in the final of the Division 3 Gourmet Food Parlour Quill Cup Final.
They went down 2-5 to 10 points to Garda College in UL last night.
Goals were key for Garda College as they claimed GFP Division 3 Ladies Football HEC League silverware at UL on Tuesday night.
Catriona Murray and Sheila Brady found the net either side of half time, in a game which was well balanced early on.
IT Tralee led by 0-4 to 0-3 at the end of the first quarter, but could have trailed at this stage but for a fine save by their keeper Emma Glynn.
IT Tralee pushed four points clear, but Garda College mounted a comeback, with Murray finding the net to cut the gap to a point at the break.
Garda College were hungry and netted for the second time five minutes after the restart.
Brady added a point, but Garda College were left sweating as they failed to score from the 47th minute until the end.
Áine Nash worked hard to cut the gap for IT Tralee, but Garda College held on by the minimum.
Garda College captain Kellie Kearney received the Cup from Ladies HEC Secretary DJ Collins, while she also picked up the Gourmet Food Parlour Player of the Match award.
