Tralee Gardai no longer treat discovery of body as suspicious

Gardai in Tralee are no longer treating the discovery of a mans body in a burnt out car in Curraheen yesterday as suspicious. The Assistant State Pathologist Margaret Bolster carried out a post mortem on the body at Kerry General Hospital. Supt Pat Sullivan from Tralee Garda Station said that the exact time and cause of the death is not yet known, but Gardai are satisfied that foul play was not involved. Some samples from the post mortem are to be forward to the State Laboratory for analysis.Supt Sullivan said that the body is that of a male in his late 40’s or 50’s, but that it has not yet been positively identified. He has appealed for anybody who was in the area on Sunday night or Monday morning to come forward and in particular the driver of a red Honda Civic car.
