Tralee has been chosen ahead of forty other Irish towns, to host a major conference on remote working in Ireland.
The ‘Grow Remote’ movement is bringing together tech firms, entrepreneurs and town planners to promote the benefits of remote working, not just for businesses, but for the communities they live in.
New figures project that the remote-working population in Ireland is estimated at 216,000.
Organisers say Tralee was chosen, because it already has a considerable number of these workers – just recently, Amazon announced it was hiring 80 people in Kerry to work from home.
Ken Tobin from Tralee Chamber Alliance says Tralee is already home to many different workers, who’ve chosen to work here, for lifestyle reasons:
The conference takes place on September 28.
