The board of Tralee Chamber Alliance says it's been assured that every effort that can be made to accelerate the opening of the Tralee-Fenit Greenway, will be made.
The board released a statement in which it acknowledged the open letter about the greenway published in this week's Kerryman, and the desire to open it as soon as possible.
The statement also revealed that the Chamber has been engaged in ongoing reviews of the progress of the works along with Mayor Terry O'Brien and Kerry County Council.
The board recognises that the opening of the greenway by summer 2021 would be of significant economic value to the tourism sector in Kerry.
It also states that a number of proposals are under consideration should the greenway not be ready to open by the summer of next year.
