Traffic disruption and road closures due to the Dingle Marathon.

There will be traffic disruption and road closures in Dingle tomorrow due to the Dingle Marathon.

Motorists are being advised of changes to traffic flow in the area between 8.30am and 3pm.

Both the half and full marathons will get underway at 9am tomorrow morning.

Motorists are being advised that large crowds will be taking part in the event and efforts are being made to keep disruption to a minimum.

The Slea Head drive from Sayers Cross to Dún Chaoin will be closed to traffic between 9.15am and 12.30pm.

Strand Street to Milltown Cross will be closed from 8.30am to 9.15am, and again from 11.00am to 3.00pm, while Milltown Cross to Sayers Cross won’t be open from 8.45am to 10.30am.

Sayers Cross to Krugers Cross will be closed from 9.15am to 12.30pm, while there will be no access from Marthain Cross to Dun Chaoin Cross from 9.15am to 12.30pm or from Krugers Cross to Bricks Cross from 10.00am to 1.30pm.

Similarly, Bricks Cross to Caherdorgan West Cross will be closed from 10.30am to 3.00pm and there will be no access from Emlach East Cross to Ballynane Cross to Milltown Cross from 10.30am to 3.00pm.

The Milltown Roundabout to Strand Street and Bridge Street will be closed from 8.30am to 9.15am and again from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

A one-way system will operate from Milltown towards the town centre from 9.15am to 11.00am.

Traffic travelling from the Milltown Roundabout to Main Street, Spa Road and the Mall Junction will be diverted from the West via the old Hospital.

Main Street will be two-way for the duration of the event, from 8.30am to 3pm and parking will be restricted in the town.

No through traffic will be allowed enter Strand Street from the Tracks between 8.30am and 9.15am, and from 11am to 3pm.

Green Street and The Mall will operate as normal, while John Street will operate one way from the Mall junction towards Bothar na bPiarsach.
