Traditional fair day returns to Castlegregory

A west Kerry village is hosting its second annual traditional fair day today.

Such fairs were commonplace before the arrival of marts.

Organisers revived the event in Castlegregory last year.

Over the course of the day, cattle, sheep, horses, ponies, donkeys, goats and poultry will be bought and sold at Forge Road in the village.

Prizes will also be presented to the best animals on display.
