Tourism Officer is appointed for North Kerry

Cork Kerry Tourism have announced the appointment of a Tourism Officer for North Kerry. Martina Barton, a native of North Kerry will take over the position from Brenda Galvan, who stood down from the post after just three weeks in the job. Cork Kerry Tourism have had anything but a smooth transition into North Kerry. They took over the reigns from Shannon Development in January of this year despite reservations from tourism interests in the region. They want assurances that North Kerry will be marketed as vigorously as the South Kerry Killarney region.Today`s appointment of Martina Barton is a welcome relief as the county enters the height of the tourist season. Ms Barton comes to Cork Kerry with a range of experience in the tourism industry where she has worked with Dublin tourism, Brendan tours in the USA and Abbey Tours. She will be based in Tralee and will take up her position in early July
