The time taken to sell a house in Kerry has fallen by four weeks.

That’s according to the REA Average House Price Survey, which shows that house prices in the county rose slightly in the last three months.

This REA Average House Price Survey shows it took seven weeks to a house to sell in Kerry in the past three months, down from 11 weeks the previous quarter.

The price of an average three-bed semi-detached house in the county rose 1.1% this quarter to €226,000.

REA says this reflects people moving away from urban hubs and incorporating new working from home lifestyles.

Killarney prices rose 1.9% in the past three months to €270,000, and time taken to sell fell by a fortnight to eight weeks.

Donal Culloty of REA Coyne and Culloty, Killarney says they continue to see couples moving back to the area from London, Dublin and Cork, and there’s also a better demand on rentals as people aren’t renting in cities and have moved home to live.

Prices in Tralee rose 7.1% over the past 12 months and were unchanged this quarter at €182,000.

The time taken to sell in Tralee fell by six weeks this quarter to five weeks.

Eddie Barrett of REA North*s says the market is strong in Tralee but there’s lack of supply, and anything that comes on the market sells immediately.
