13 houses in Tralee have been damaged in overnight flooding.

Kerry County Council staff, the fire service and the Civil Defence have been working throughout the morning to stop flood waters entering homes at O’Connor’s Terrace, opposite the Horan Centre.

Independent councillor, Sam Locke, said the drainage system wasn’t able to handle the high volume of rain water and homes have been seriously damaged.

Meanwhile, Met Eireann has lifted the status yellow rainfall warning for Kerry.

Gardaí in Kerry say it’s an improving situation on roads across the county.
