There’s been a reduction in TB in Kerry over the past year

There’s been a reduction in tuberculosis in Kerry over the past year.

A report by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre reveals there was over 320 cases of TB reported nationwide, with Kerry accounting for eight notifications.

The report presents a summary of TB for the period January to December 2017.


A total of eight cases were reported last year, down from 12 in 2016.

In the HSE’s Southern area, which encompasses Cork and Kerry, a total of 48 cases of TB were reported last year.
