Mícheál Ó Gaoithín (1904 -1974) was much more than merely the son of the legendary storyteller Peig Sayers. He was a poet and a painter. His art is celebrated in a new book A File Micheál Ó Gaoithín: The Blasket Painter which has been nominated for an Irish Times book of the year award.
