Following on from last week’s news that Kerry’s Aileen Crowley and Monika Dukarska have been officially chosen to represent Ireland at the Olympic games in Tokyo, there is still a possibility that another Kerry native could be on the plane.
David Kenny of Farranfore/Maine Valley athletics club is within the qualification standard to book a place in Tokyo.
Currently ranked at 54th in the World Rankings, he is five places inside the top 60 which are guaranteed a spot at this summer’s delayed games.
The cut off point for athletes to qualify for the games is tomorrow week, June 29th.
