Survey shows Kerry has the second highest level of ghost estates

Kerry has the second highest level of unfinished or ghost estates in the country. That’s according to the Government’s National Housing Survey which has been tracking the extent and condition of unfinished housing developments since 2010. house building The figures show that 120 developments in Kerry were surveyed this year and following this it has been decided that 80 will remain on the list for next year. Over 3,900 dwellings were inspected; over 40 per cent were semi-detached properties. 1,800 were completed and were either vacant or occupied. 848 were at various stages of construction. Planning permission had expired on 1,258 dwellings.
