Supporters of Shannon LNG want to make area sustainable

Supporters of Shannon LNG say it is not incompatible to want to protect the environment while also supporting the proposed project.

Friends of the Earth recently held a meeting about the environment in Listowel, among the issues discussed was the proposed Shannon LNG terminal on the Tarbert Ballylongford landbank.

Members of the new Shannon Estuary Business Alliance attended the meeting to put their side across and outlined the decline being suffered in the area.

The Alliance is joining forces with existing groups such as Tarbert Development Association.
