Substantial grant for Seanchai Centre in Listowel

The Seanchai Centre in Listowel has been awarded a substantial grant from Shannon Development. The money comes as the centre battles to overcome a debt of 65 thousand euro. Under Shannon Development’s new tourism and heritage innovation programme the Seanchai Centre in Listowel is eligible for grant support of up to a maximum of 15 thousand euro. The money will allow the Kerry literary and cultural centre to develop a user friendly presentation to show visitors all aspects of life in North Kerry. It comes at a time when the centre is going through a very difficult period financially. The funding is part of a 100 thousand euro grant package which aims to help a number of projects in Clare, Limerick and Kerry. The Seanchai Centre is the only Kerry project to receive assistance while 7 are to get funding in Clare and 8 in Limerick City and County
