Students continue to use Library road

Students at Gaelscoil Lios Tuathail are continuing to use the library road entrance into the school despite an enforcement order being issued. The school authorities have applied for planning permission for a new entrance close by and it understood they will continue to use the library road until The Town Council has ruled on the fresh application. School Manager Donal O Hainifein wrote to parents ahead of the Halloween mid term break advising them to continue to use the library road entrance from today despite the enforcement order. In the letter he said proceedings will not issue on foot of the enforcement order once the new planning application is being considered. The proposed new entrance is close to the one being used at the moment and includes provision for parking for teachers and visitors as well as a drop off area. The Town Council has two months to consider this revised application giving a breather to the school authorities who have spent the last four months debating this issue with The Town Council.
