More bad weather is forecast later today, and Met Eireann has upgraded its warning to status orange because of very strong winds due across the county. Damage from recent floods and high winds is said to be the worst in a decade, with repairs due to cost up to 225 million euro. Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Wexford have also been issued with a status orange alert. A yellow warning is in place for the rest of the country, with coastal flooding possible. The President of the Irish Claim Consultants Association, Eamon Downey, says he’s seeing a lot of damage to farm buildings.
