Storm Ali destroys Kerry tent at National Ploughing Championship

A tent showcasing Kerry at the National Ploughing Championship has been completely destroyed by Storm Ali.

The event was cancelled today on health and safety grounds as the County Offaly site had been battered by storm force winds.

Kerry County Council’s Tourism Unit was coordinating the Kerry tent at the event promoting the ‘Kerry Your Natural Escape’ brand and included several exhibitors.

Eamonn Horgan from the Kerry Social Farming Project, who was among the exhibitors in the tent, describes the scene today:

IRD Duhallow was also among those taking part in the Kerry tent at the National Ploughing Championships.

Maura Walsh from the group says the devastation at the site is unbelievable given that yesterday was such a success.

However, she says the main thing is that nobody was injured:
