Sports Complex issues remain unresolved.

Tralee Town Council and the Kerry Education Centre are admitting that significant issues remain to be resolved about the Sports Complex. The complex wants the Town Council to provide half a million euro towards their refurbishment costs. The request has led to a stand-off between the two, with the Town Council denying any such commitment has been made.In a statement issued to Radio Kerry News today, the joint owners accept there are issues to be resolved, but say the day-to-day running will not be affected. Documents seen by Radio Kerry News show the complex manager Donal Dowd writing to the town hall earlier this month seeking 380,000 euro. The letter says that the previous Town Clerk John Breen gave a commitment on behalf of the council at a meeting of the complex. This is disputed by his successor Mike Scannell, who in turn questions the figures supplied. A briefing document prepared by joint owners, the Kerry Education Service, says the figure in question has now risen to half a million.
