Tipperary just edged Galway by 3-10 to 1-13 in their clash.
In Division 1B then, Wexford survived a late fightback from Dublin to win 2-15 to 17 points.
Limerick smashed Kerry by 3-23 to 1-4 and Down went down to Antrim by 2-9 to 1-8.
