Neck guards to be introduced to British Ice Hockey next year

Neck guards are going to be made mandatory in British ice hockey from next year following the death of Nottingham Panthers player Adam Johnson.

The 29-year-old American died after his neck was cut by an opponent's blade during Saturday's Challenge Cup match against the Sheffield Steelers.

From the 2024 season, it will be a requirement to wear a neck guard for "all on-ice activities".
