The Southern Health Board has issued advice for elderly people in the county, particularly those living on their own during the severe weather conditions. The elderly are advised to have emergency numbers by the phone and to to have regular hot meals.Anyone living alone is asked to make regular contact with neighbors or relatives. The Southern Health Board is also asking the public to be conscious of the needs of older people living in their area. All Southern Health Board field staff in particular public health nurses and community welfare officers will be on alert particularly for older people in the county.
