South-West has second highest rate of homelessness

The South-West Region has the highest percentage of homeless persons outside of Dublin.

Figures released by the Central Statistics Office show that 8.3% of Ireland’s homeless live in the South-West region, which consists of counties Cork and Kerry.

The Dublin region is home to over 70% of Ireland’s homeless.

There were 9,846 homeless people in Ireland as of December 2019.
