Sixty-four pubs closed in Kerry between 2005 and 2017.
That’s according to figures released by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland.
In 2005, there were 503 pubs in the Kingdom and in 2017 that reduced to 439 – a drop of almost 13%.
The industry is a major regional employer.
The Kerry hospitality and drinks businesses enables 10,828 jobs and generates over €460 million in revenue for the local tourism economy.
