SIPTU says the government`s decentralisation programme will do nothing to solve Kerry`s unemployment problem. In a statement Branch Secretary Andrew Mc Cathy says transferring civil servants from Dublin will not solve the problems of those living in the county looking for work. He says Kerry is in danger of sliding into oblivion and the IDA and Shannon Development have abandoned their responsibilities. Meanwhile Deputy Breda Moynihan Cronin has told the Dail that Killarney is missing vital infrastructural projects such as Broadband and this makes it impossible to compete with other towns. She said last year only one potential investor was brought to visit to the Killarney Technology Park. Deputy Moynihan Cronin says the employment situation in South Kerry will not improve until the government delivers on infrastructure.
